- 35 This chapter is our chief source of information about the little-known sect of Rechabites; cf. 2 Kings 10. 15-16, 23. They obeyed what they felt to be a call to serve God in the wilderness and desert places. The ancient nomad life during the Exodus was always looked back to as the time of the greatest fidelity to God.
